Shuang Xuetao, nato a Shenyang, è un romanziere contemporaneo cinese. Laureato presso la Jilin University. Molte delle sue opere sono state adattate per il cinema e la televisione tra cui anche Mosè sulla pianura (平原上的摩西); la sua vita letteraria ha anche un profondo legame con Taiwan: è il primo scrittore del continente a ricevere il Taipei Literature Annuity Award.
